We
are so very close to starting!
We are currently working on
obtaining lodging and
meals/groceries for the
skatepark crew out of Austin.
They will be here for
approximately 10 weeks. We also
need used lumber, new rebar,
equipment such as a back hoe, a
bobcat, a trencher, a power lift
truck, a power trowel, a
concrete pump, and some other
odds and ends.
Huser Construction will be our
General Contractor and the
Skatepark bid was awarded to
Ideal Skateparks of Austin, TX.
Doug King and his crew have
incredible experience with
concrete and have successfully
completed many parks in small
communities of Texas. Check out
his website Rex Ramps or Ideal
Skateparks.
Type:
Concrete
Size:
Phase I - 8,500 sq.ft. of street
course
Location:
Singing Winds Park
Features:
Fenced; lighted; stairs, banks,
fun box, grind box, ledge,
rails, 1/4 pipe
This
concrete skatepark will accommodate
skateboards, skaters and bikers at
varying levels of interest and ability.
During the design phase we maintained
the idea to build a quality skatepark
that would attract people with a variety
of interests and one that could be built
at today's prices within the range of
our budget.
Again, material and
service donations are definitely needed
including: excavation services, dirt,
lumber, rebar, concrete (lots of it!),
electrical engineer, plumber to install
water fountain, water fountain, electric
hand dryers for bathrooms, pvc for
drainage system, commercial light
system, fencing, push broom, landscape
plants and services, signs for entryway.
