The idea for this project came about after visiting another city’s “pool”. The facility was amazing. The interaction between persons of all ages was incredible. The park had something for everyone, yet was not commercialized at all. The visitors were enjoying themselves and each other.

After a little research it was discovered that these types of facilities were being developed all over the nation and were city owned and operated. Municipal waterparks are the fastest growing leg of the water park industry, both indoor and outdoor. And they are for the most part, successful and very much recommended as an addition to a Municipal Parks System. In our research, we have found that the parks which are not breaking even are doing so purposefully; keeping admission prices below expenses to provide quality of life to the community. These facilities are usually “resident only”.

We understand that Kerrville has no additional funds for this purpose. We believe that this will be a successful and much needed addition to Kerrville. Kerrville Playscape, Inc., would like to undertake the development and fund raising efforts so that this can happen in Kerrville much sooner that waiting for it to be budgeted by the City.

While we can give no guarantee that we can raise these funds, we believe that this is such an incredible project that we are determined to work for the last penny (including a reserve expense fund) to make this project possible.  Our feasibility study indicates that this would be a very successful amenity to the Kerrville area.
